Mysterious and a bit challenging, the most diverse country of Central America offers nearly every kind of landscape. It is not really a surprise that Guatemala has various superb natural scenery when you realize that not even 2% of the whole landmass is urbanized. Jungle, mountainsides, volcanoes, impressive lakes and beautiful beaches, tropical climate or chilly highlands, Guatemala has all of it.

If you ask yourself what happened to the Maya, you will get a simple answer when you get here: they are still here, continuing their customs and traditions in a sometimes breathtaking and very magical way. A lot of Maya ruins can be visited, which definitely are archaeological highlights.

If you are an adventurous person you are able to experience stunning trekking routes through the jungle or beautiful hikes to one of the volcanoes.

And even if the Spanish are not very popular in Latin America, they left behind some beautiful colonial architecture.
